Retta Adnan: "Basically, all my books help you to build an online business."

01. Dear Retta, please introduce yourself to our glam mom magazine readers.

I’m Retta Adnan, a previous TV Presenter based between Dubai and London, Studied Professional Digital Marketing & 6 other Majors. I’m an entrepreneur “Owner of an international beauty brand” BeautybyRetta.com , I published 3 books about entrepreneurship and self-development, and recently received the “Most 50 Influential Women 2022 Award” and I’m a Social Media influencer / content creator with over 800k Followers on Instagram.

02. You wrote 3 books and you have been recognized as best-selling author. Can you tell us more about your books.

My first book is “Time to Blossom”. For whoever wants to stop procrastinating and start achieving their goals with real techniques that I learned throughout my experience. And it got great reviews from the readers because it helped them to understand what they want and how to achieve it and make them take the first steps towards their success.

The second book is “100 Business Ideas” this Book will simply give you 100 MONEY-MAKING IDEAS that you can start today with ZERO Budget! Every page has an idea, a brief explanation and helpful tools and websites to help with it, and expected income. When I published it on Amazon it became the #1 Top seller in small businesses and entrepreneurship categories.

The third book is “Instagram for Business” this Book will Guide you Step-By-Step on how to Build & Grow your Social Media Profiles to get New Customers Online. Basically, all my books help you to build an online business and get your financial freedom step by step!

03. You have your own beauty brand for so many years now called “Beauty by Retta”. How do you come up with this concept?

I designed and launched my website “www.BeautybyRetta.com” in 2018. And in 2021 it got ranked as one of the Top 7% E-commerce Beauty Website worldwide! According to Thousands of visitors and sales monthly. We have worldwide Free shipping and 13 Distributors in many countries, it’s also available in Stores located in UAE. Many of the products gets Sold Out in less than 24 hours of launching it.!

04. How do you manage business and motherhood so far?

It’s HARD I won’t lie to you! I’m still trying to adapt and organize my time through the day, because the baby takes most of the day just like a full-time job! But I’m coming up with few things to help me get some work done, first I hired more people in my team, I learned to ask for help when I needed, I used to like to do everything by myself and that can’t work right now.

Another thing I did is a timetable for the week including having 2 hours of me time a day without the baby, so I can finish any pending work, and we also agreed on a day off during the week, one day off for me and one for my husband which gives us some space to do some work or even to relax, it had a wonderful effect on our moods.

05. congratulations with being awarded with the best influential woman in 2022. Who’s your inspiration?

Thank you! My primary inspiration are my parents, I grew up watching them grow and work really hard on their own, and I also strive to better my previous self and not compare myself to others, focusing on my personal growth and self-improvement as my guiding light.

06. You live in Dubai and in England. Where do you feel more home?

Originally, I’m Palestinian, but I grew up in Dubai and lived there my whole life so Dubai feels like home to me, but we often travel to London cause my husband’s family live there, and we escape the hot weather in Dubai as well, so more like a vacation for few months.

07. How can you describe your clothing style?

I would say Modest, Comfy & Chic. I always look for modest pieces that suit our Arabic culture and feel comfortable and elegant at the same time.

08. You are also tv presenter. Would you go back to tv world or stick with social media?

I think TV days are over, and social media is the new TV! No one watches TV anymore except for Netflix and watching movies mostly.

09. What are your favorite moments of being a mom?

I think when he wakes me up with the biggest and cutest smile, I feel so much love & joy in his eyes when he looks at me. Another thing is when I enter a room and he looks at me and starts jumping and laughing, I’ve never seen anyone that looks this happy to see me!

10. How was your experience with the team of Glam mom magazine & how did you experience your photo shoot day?

The Glam mom team was wonderful, they’re so friendly and supportive, it felt like talking to a friend! As for the photoshoot we planned something a bit different! I choose A simple wedding dress as my outfit from SHEIN as they’re my favorite brand to shop from, they literally have anything you can think of, for women, men, kids, babies, and even home accessories!

We planned the photoshoot in London with the amazing photographer Christoph (IG @soulful_travel_memories) the pictures turned out better than what I expected! I loved them so much really, although it was raining and gloomy weather but he managed to capture many beautiful moments for our family.

Fashion is a solid piece of my soul although clothes are not going to change the world I believe that the women who wear them will.
I spend my days connecting with other like-minded women who are striving to create a life that they actually want to live! I believe that fear kills more dreams than failure ever will and I mentor women into understanding that. Owning our own story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it so I am ok this platform to inspire, share and help others actually create a life they want to live!

On the other side, it is a lot of work, we are very self-made people, we love to get our hands dirty. My husband is in charge of most of the technical stuff, from fixing the extensive heating system to fixing the elevator, he amazes me every time. I am more in charge of the garden, the fact that it’s so big makes that almost every weekend we are outside, which brings me a great counterweight to my day-job, being stuck at a computer every single day of the week.

Owning our own story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it so I am ok this platform to inspire, share and help others actually create a life they want to live!

Hello dearest readers, I’m Wilma Elles and I wanted to be an actress since I was 4 years old. I played in many TV series (one of them was the rating record breaking TV series ” Öyle bir geçer zaman ki” which was screened in 70 countries also in South America as “Tormentas de passiones”/”Mar de Amores”, Eastern Europe etc. ) and movies mostly in Turkey and some also in Germany and America for example in the Oscar eligible movie “Silvercarnation”. But most importantly I’m not only an actress but also mother of twins: a boy and a girl, 8 years old and I always wanted to have a big family because I think that children make you a better and more emotional and empathetic artist and no artist should ever worry to have children because children are always a blessing.

When I found out that I was pregnant, I was super happy with my husband, because we had just married to have more children and right the second month it worked out so we were enjoying every moment of it. Actually, it was Melody one of the twins who discovered the result of the pregnancy test first. 10 seconds later me. She wants to be a newborn doctor now.

Glam Mom Magazine: „Can we exclusively know if you‘re having a boy or a girl? Or is it a secret?“

We are having a girl!!! So, we will hopefully have two boys and two girls. As my husband has one more 8-year-old boy living in another city.

Glam Mom Magazine: „Will you take some time off after giving birth or will you jump right back to work?“

I think acting really is the best profession to combine with motherhood. You can arrange yourself and with the twins I was right back to work for the shooting of the series “Filinta” and the series “Yeter” after 6 weeks. I had a caravan and 2 babysitters for them. So, I was very fortunate to work with great producers who made it possible for me. But thanks God there are a lot of producers like this.

At the moment my new series “The Golden Apple – The Grand Conquest” is on the Turkish streaming platform Tabii.com . it’s now in five languages available also in English on Tabiienglish.com We are waiting for the second season to start, hopefully soon as being on set fills me with energy what is also good for my newborn as babies always copy the emotion of their parents.
